Employment Opportunities In the LHASA Group

The LHASA project presents a unique interdisciplinary opportunity in which the methods of computer science are applied to the theory of organic synthesis. Research is conducted in a stimulating and flexible environment in the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology at Harvard University.

Our laboratory is well-equipped with several workstations and personal computers from a variety of manufacturers. Program development is in C, C++ and Java mainly, under the Unix operating system. For additional information, e-mail postdoc@lhasa.harvard.edu or visit the Research Projects section of our website.

Positions Available

Post-doctoral research

Opportunities are available on the LHASA project for computer-assisted synthetic analysis.

Applicants must have recently completed a Ph.D. in chemistry or a closely related field. A strong programming background, preferably in C, C++ and/or Java is mandatory. These positions are programming-intensive; the research involves development, rather than use, of software for synthetic analysis. Applicants should have a background in organic synthesis; previous experience in the development of expert systems and/or combinatorial chemistry is also desirable.

Harvard University is an Affirmative Action, Equal Opportunity Employer and welcomes applications from women and minority group members.
